Howdy : )
Why women and men (society in general) still pre-judge people with tats. women especially?
I’m a twenty six year old F, have 9 tattoos, many of which cannot be spotted on my daily travels. 5 – 6 during the warm months are pretty much constantly on display. I do not aim for notice and I have a loving boyfriend Without TATTOOS .I get the impression that many people believe that tattooed persons are blind, once we get stared at, even if we return a glance people keep on staring. When will society change?
Hi, Thanks for the comment. I agree that it is rude to stare, and the prejudice exists out there for many people, including those with tattoos. My boyfriend has several tattoos, although I do not have any. I think it’s a personal choice, and while you may not do it to get noticed, some people do. I think the stigmas attached to women with tattoos are, like any other stigma, deeply rooted in society’s subconscious, and with time, those ideas will evolve and change… But it will take time! Also, the staring (although rude) may not be meant offensively. Some people just love body art, and may be appreciating yours.
